Farmgate
is the wire and tape division of Habipax Industries.
Our products
are made with superior raw materials and methods and while the difference
might not always be obvious to the naked eye - Farmgate products stand
the tests of time and usability.

Materials - Yarn |
| High Density
Polyethylene Monofilament is the yarn. Our research confirmed that
this versatile and durable plastic is the best material to withstand
the rigours of farm life. We have designed and constructed our own extruder
to produce the highest quality yarn. Our Polyethylene has a UV Stability
Resistence of 4%. |

| Raw
Materials - Wire Strands |
|
We manufacture using
both Stainless Steel Wire and Tinned Copper Wire. Stainless Steel
is the most cost effective wire and has an extended life span. However
Tinned Copper Wire is the most conductive - around 50 times more conductive
than Stainless Steel.

Process - Braided Wire |
|
The special High Density
Polyethylene Monofilament and either the Stainless Steel or High Conductivity
Tinned Copper Wire are wound on to bobbins and braided with circular braiders.
The advantages of
this method against the cheaper twisted method are;
- It will not unravel
because the interwoven threads of Polyethylene and wire prevent that.
This also offers considerable strength.
|
- The wire relaxes
off the reel because the Polyethylene stands are braided in opposite
directions in the construction process. Compare this to twisting where
all the strands are bound together by the twist in the same direction
|
- Braided Wire results
in a smooth surface and will not cut into the plastic insulators or
through the plastic coating on the top of an electric fence standard.
In windy or exposed areas, this means the insulator will not be damaged
and won't arc.
|
- There is a form
of braided wire on the market that is not a true braid. The core of
this product is normal twine with the poly and wire braided about it.
When subjected to any wear and tear, it will separate from the core
with a corresponding loss in effectiveness.

Process - Woven Tape |
- The advantage of woven tapes, as against the common knitted method,
is that the weft passes both under and over the longitudinal warps,
ensuring it will never unravel . The conductivity
wires will lie along the tapes without any interruptions, guaranteeing
continual conductivity.

Process - Wrapped wire |
- Powerwrapper This product is available
in white and is likened to polywire but the difference with our product
is that the wires are wrapped around the polyethylene and because they
are all touching at the same time, this results in tremendous conductivity
being achieved (4170 OHMS/KM).
It is marketed in 200 and 500 metre lots which will fit onto a standard
reel.
It tends to be used in windy areas
(ie It won’t catch the wind like tape) on a normal grass breakfeed situation.
It will not unravel and relaxes off the reel.
Breaking Strain is 57kgs.
6 Stainless Steel strands of 2mm wire.

- Superwrapper Exactly the same product as Powerwrapper except
that it is much stronger because it is thicker with twice the raw materials
(ie Polyethylene). Conductivity for
Superwrapper is 4540 OHMS/KM
Breaking strain is 112kgs.
6 Stainless Steel strands of 5mm wire
